Lecturer in Philosophy and Religious Studies at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point
I am a Wisconsin native. When I am not reading, writing, or teaching, I enjoys exploring Wisconsin's unique landscape by trail and by kayak.
I currently lecture in philosophy and religious studies with the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, where I have taught courses on religion and nature, religion and popular culture, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, religious diversity in modern America, and more.
My current research takes place at the intersection of religion, American culture, and political discourse. My publications at the intersection of civil religion and peace studies include “From Anglo-Saxon Nativism to Executive Order: Civil Religion and Anti-Immigration Rhetoric,” “The Irony of the Secular: Violent Communication at the Limits of Tolerance,” and the upcoming "The Freedom Narrative and the War on Terror: Civil-Religious Idolatry for the 9/11 Generation."
I also serve as the Academic Success Associate at the UWSP at Marshfield campus, where I offer academic coaching, workshops, and coordinate the campus Tutoring-Learning Center.
